TRUE VALUE APPOINTS HEATH ASHENFELTER VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF MERCHANDISING OFFICER

CHICAGO, March 8, 2016 – True Value Company, one of the world’s largest retailer-owned hardware cooperatives, is pleased to announce the promotion of Heath Ashenfelter to the position of Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer. Ashenfelter currently serves as Divisional Vice President of Merchandising.
In his new role, Ashenfelter will play an integral role in creating experiences that best serve customers and differentiate True Value from its competitors. He will serve as a member of the senior leadership team, reporting to True Value President and CEO John Hartmann.

Ashenfelter joined True Value in 2011. During this time, he has served in roles with increasing responsibility including Global Product Merchant and Divisional Vice President. Under his leadership, he has successfully led cross-functional teams focused on EDLP, New Items, Seasonal Inventory and Value Density.
Prior to joining True Value, Ashenfelter was National Sales Manager at Ellsworth Adhesives focusing on their consumer goods business. Previously, he spent 10 years at The Scotts Company where he worked with major hardware, home improvement, mass market, grocery and drug retailers driving significant sales increases year over year.
