True Value Plain City Makes its Mark

May 31, 2018
From April 13-14, True Value Plain City held a two day grand opening in Plain City, Utah. Owner Dave Boatwright’s DTV store encompasses 13,408 retail sq. ft. and utilizes microphones and walkie-talkies to ensure frequent team member communication and a great customer experience. This team truly takes customer service to heart, and it’s not uncommon for a store associate to deliver a lawn mower to a customer’s home and go the extra mile by filling the gas tank and starting the mower to make sure it’s running properly.

To promote the grand opening, Dave took advantage of True Value’s marketing materials, sending out the circular and creating excitement via social media and word of mouth. True Value retail consultant John Giles and paint consultant Pat Ferraro joined members of the local fire department and general community for two days of deals, giveaways, and product demos from vendors including Traeger Grills, Milwaukee, Echo, IFA, and Benjamin Moore. Dave also smoked pulled pork and ribs in one of the advertised grills, and guests had a chance to win a grill, power washer or lawnmower and try their hand at the Spin to Win wheel.

One of Dave’s greatest takeaways is the importance of pre-scheduling vendors and having a draw that shows the local community the value in an event. Last but not least, he’s proud of the relationships his team is building with customers to help them see True Value Plain City as the local hardware destination.

Congratulations to Dave Boatwright and the True Value Plain City team!
