Toa Alta True Value Perseveres in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria

July 19, 2018

On June 13, a new True Value opened its doors in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico. This is the second hardware store for Anibal Cintron and Sonia Cruz, who also own Ferreteria Minillas in Bayamon.

Originally slated to open in November 2017, Toa Alta True Value endured many setbacks when Hurricane Maria ravaged the area. After months of challenges, lack of electricity, and permit and construction delays, the 9,000 sq. ft. retail space and lumber yard finally celebrated its grand opening on June 16, 2018. The mayor, local representatives and True Value associates Gabriel Fuentes Perez and Luis Rodriguez joined about 100 guests for the festivities, which included giveaways, free food and drinks, and local vendors displaying promo items.

Anibal and Sonia are excited to launch their new facility and especially proud of their paint color center, which has been getting rave reviews. The store is a welcome addition to the area and a true testament to staying the course during a challenging time.
Felicitaciones to Anibal and Sonia and their Toa Alta True Value family!
