Lee’s True Value Launches in Clyde, Texas

March 26, 2018
Lee’s True Value Hardware of Clyde, Texas, celebrated a grand opening on March 17. Leslie and Shane Lee’s first True Value location offers 3,300 sq. ft. of retail space housed conveniently next to their existing farm & ranch store.

The Lees are proudest of their small community’s response, as over 500 people stopped by throughout the weekend and 200 gallons of paint were sold. “Everyone was very complimentary [about] the layout, the products, just everything,” Leslie explains. “So I would say DTV is a VERY successful program and recommend it to any new stores coming on board with True Value.”

Advance promotional efforts such as social media and True Value’s grand opening circular also got this DTV facility off to a great start. The store hosted a live radio remote, which helped draw a crowd. Additionally, they held a successful bucket sale and BOGO paint offering, and extended the festivities to their feed store with free food and a Customer Appreciation Day. The county sheriff, judicial candidates, and the Men of Clyde—a local service organization receiving the proceeds from the bucket sale— joined in the fun.

Several True Value associates were also on-site to lend the small store a hand: RC Rich Talbot, Corsicana operations manager Grant Pearson, BDM Jim Mitchell, and retail paint specialist Ricky Rinaudo. “We tease around here that it takes a village, and our village showed up in force,” Leslie adds. “Our event was top notch and really will put us way above our competition.”

Congratulations to the Lee’s True Value team!
